I have to admit I do not know how to convert a door, but I do much prefer the door with no vent window. It is much easier to stick your arm out, as the opening is much wider. The 1948 I drove for so many years was that way. In fact, I thought all of them were that way for a long time (that is the effect of being alone, no contact with civilization....).
I am interested to see if there is a response on the conversion procedure.
