Yes there is a seal that fits on the base od the dist that seats on the block. I got a replacement one from VPW it was a o-ring that didn't fit right. When I rebuilt my 230 (I assume this is the engine your talking about) the (rebuild) gasket kit had a nice cork gasket that fit perfect and took care of the problem. That was a couple of years ago maybe VPW has the correct (cork) ones by now, if not try Adirondack Dodge.
