I emailed "Pilgrim's" (the restorer) in Lakeport, CA about the PW restoration cost. I'm curious as we're in the middle of a frame-off restoration on my '61 WM300 - the pic above shows my frame before the mechanicals were removed for the sandblaster.
Exact quote they sent - "around $60,000" !!! EXCUSE ME ??? Lots of recent discussion about restoration cost & the fella that turned down $21,000 bid on a restored PW brokered by Kruse Auction. Maybe he used these guys & had a $60,000 restoration + original cost of truck, shipping back & forth & who knows what else. I'm guessing the '47 PW owner's total out-of-pocket is $70,000 !!!
Soooo, in a few months we will complete our documented frame-off restoration & be happy to put you in the driver's seat for ONLY $35,000, ha-ha !!!
