Kevin, the valve is ref #5-43-1. It and the gasket (which is not shown in the parts book illustrations) are the first thing to drop into the master cylinder body when reassembling. It's possible that you got a decent seal without the gasket, though you might not be so lucky this time! Good luck with everything.
