It occurred to me that I had some of the mechanisms. No 'adapters' for the double flaring though. So I went ahead and tried a 3/16" for my vaccuum advance. I used an 8d nail as my 'adapter'. I filed the underside of the head neat. Then, since it had no dimple in it's head for the flarer, I put the clamp on the vise and whacked the nail head with a BFH. Worked perfectly. Remove nail, final flare with the conical tool. Better than the factory ends I have been getting. Next I shortened my fuel line, 5/16 from pump to carb. 5/16", so I used a 1/4" bolt. Same BFH. This one tightened up leak proof with minimal wrenching, less than it had taken to tighten up the factory end it used to have.

No slippage in the antique flaring clamp. It's old enough to have a patent date, made by Imperial Brass, Chicago. Made in the United States of America, all spelled out. It clamped tight enough to leave knurl marks in the tubing.
