The phosphoric acid / zinc phosphate treatment after a good sanding followed by epoxy primer is the way to go. I'm up to 12 years now on my B4 PW w zero sign of problems.

Unfortunately, what used to cost me $35 is now up to $100. What crap.

As to paint, I have clear coat/base coat on the B4 and will not do it again (yes - its my fault for not learning the system first, but all in all, I just don;t like it). I'm going with a good catalyized acrylic enamel on the Townies. And a car cover for storage.
