All Dodge flathead engines have hardened valve seats from the factory starting in about 1933. The exhaust valves themselves are quite durable but better ones are out there. I still throw in a lead substitute or other fuel conditioner occasionaly but have never cracked any valves on a Dodge flathead. And my trucks see lots of freeway hi rpms when on the road.
