Axle tube dilemma

Sometimes it sucks to be a packrat, sometimes its good.
In the course of dismantling a fair number of Power Wagon parts trucks I have accumulated quite a stack of axle tubes, both front and rears. There are better than 20 of them. They are all stripped of anything that will come off, just the tubes remain. But what to do with them? In the years of selling parts, I have never sold an entire axle, or a bare tube. I have sold plenty of differential, axles, spindles etc, but never a tube. So, should I keep storing these things, or just grimace and take them all to the metal yard and get a few bucks as scrap? It occurred to me that one could take 2 rears and with some cutting and welding make a centered rear axle. It wouldnt be too hard with a good alignment jig. Anyone want to go into that enterprise, let me know! I just hate to scrap such potentially needed things!
