Here's a link to an old carbs site. They show several different models of B&B carbs for various Dodge trucks. These show lots of different combinations of specifications- different main jets go with different sized internal passages, etc. Main jets do vary by about 50% in flow, measured in CCs per minute. 2 1/2, or maybe 3 1/2 ccpm. So, an older carb that has been rebuilt by someone long ago, could have mis-matched components and not run worth a darn.

I don't think that a spark plug color check will work- it doesn't works with modern gas- does it?

Perhaps I'll need to take it out for Dyno jetting.
