Good points Paul. YOu and I think a lot a like. Even if your PW is origianl and not repowered and only goes 40 or 50 MPH, rebuild/check the entire steering system. Pull it apart and see what is there. Most parts are not too expensive. Additionally, go through the entire brake system. rebuild or replace everything. Check the cylinders for pitting and replace anything pitted. THe master cylinders are expensive and I might consider having it sleved in stainless steel there is a couple of places that do that. Basically not pitting after doing that. I replace the maser in my 52ffPW with Ray at Helitools uder the floor power dual master cylinder. I had to slightly enlarge 1 bolt hole for on the front running board support and drill 1 small hole in the cross member by the transfer case. You also have to slightly gring the hole in the back of the brake peddle bracket. I did this strictly for the additional safety of the dual master cylinder. The breaks work just great with this set up. IT uses the original brake and clutch peddles so you have not altered the truck much at all and it would be easy to revert back to original if needed.
