the only inspection required is a vin number verification if the truck was titled out of state. to register it in CT you need all the paper work you have and proof of insurance. also an address and drivers license in CT. I just registered a 79 jeep from RI here in CT. I needed the VIN verification. When I sell the jeep to a CT resident they will use my existing registration whcih has a bill of sale on it. ct doesn't issue titles on vehicles over 10 years old. SO,, I think your paper trail will work here.
