Bed strips, angle strips question '53 FFPW

I'm starting in on my bed. U know I'll need um 5 'flat' strips. Also, the angles strips for the side. Are they cut into five pieces for each side? But, don't those come in 8 footers? Won't I need an extra few inches? Should I try to recycle a bit from my old parts? Will it be a good thing that I never throw nuthin away, no matter how rusted?

Anybody got any pics of a wooden bed, focus on the side/angle strips?

My email addy is almost correct, make it bigchriscase. Though working on this truck has taken 20 pounds off of me in the last month.
