My ini switch is the same, so mark on center. On mine, I will hook the start post directly to the coil, and the ign post to a ballast resistor. That way, I can give it an extra boost of 12v to the coil if it is ever hard starting.
Otherwise, you are probably right on your 'conversion'. b to a, a to f, f to acc. 'A' to the alternator side of the ammeter. Battery goes to one side, everydamnthing else goes to the other side. Ammeter tells you in or out of the battery.
