OK, let's try this again:
First, there is plenty of towing power in the 4BT, look again at the torque ratings, they are higher than most big block V-8 gassers.
Second, Rovers are...well I won't go there, but anyone who is an aficionado of British built vehicles, let's just say that their judgment is a little suspect. And none of that hype about Rovers being better than Jeeps. They are capable, but Rovers were spawned after WWII as Jeep clones, and in fact the first two years of Rover production were on Willys CJ2 chassis. The Rover is a nice little Savanna cruiser and graded trail runner and the 4BT is about twice the motor of even the V-8 equipped Rovers. I'd suspect that the "Prince of Darkness" (Lucas) components may have contaminated the Cummins connections.....= )
Seriously, you'd have to evaluate torque figures, weight and unsprung weight, gearing, tire size and how much dinero you want to spend on beefing up just about every component of the truck to accept the 6BT, including but not limited to: suspension, mounts, steering, drive train, axles........the 6BT will rip most components out by the roots and it's weight will crush the rest, and lastly where are you going to drive the beast once finished? There is total vehicle weight, center of gravity and types of terrain to consider.
I'm not saying it can't be done, I'm saying if you have these basic questions unanswered you'll be poorly prepared to answer them with a rig that won't break your wallet and ruin your dreams once it doesn't perform as anticipated.
Good Luck!
