One problem with adding an electric fan will be the capicity of your charging system. If you are running an original generator the battery will slowly discharge if you idle at at lot of stop lights. Fan speed will drop & high head pressure in the A/C system will raise the temperature of the air flowing across the radiator(been there done that). Now you endanger you engine with higher coolant temps. Its' a vicious circle. One option might be to adapt a modern Flexi-lite type fan blade to your engine. These have a high pitch at idle then decrease in pitch as engine speed increases. Also a proper fitting shroud is very important to insure air is actually being pulled thru the radiator.
