Such a simple question, but not such a simple answer.

You say the truck has been "converted" from 6 to 12 volts.

Who did the conversion? Me/ Vintage wire of Maine.

Was the generator replaced with an alternator? Yes

Is the alternator the kind with the integral (built-in) regulator? Yes

Is the ammeter wired into the truck properly? Not to sure? Did check off with manual.

Generally, one-wire alternator installations do not use an ammeter, they use a voltmeter.
I'm trying to use the ammeter that was in the truck. Can the ammeter be converted over to be used with a alternator?

Thanks
Terry

As you can tell I'm not to good on electrical.
