I am in the process of swapping a 1994 second generation I-6 into a 1961 WM300 that had the 251 engine. Yes you have to recess the firewall 5 inches. The transmission is a NV4500, and the transfer case is a 1991 205 from a 1st generation diesel dodge. The rear end is a centered Diff from a 1955 C3D. The radiator is is the stock position and had to modify the fromt cross memeber and the 1994 Dodge transmission crosssmember to fit. Yes the springs have to be beeed up by 200lbm per side but it is not a big deal. The power steering is from a 1977 W200 front mounted with a custom drag link. All the acessories and service points on the Cummins are easy to get to. The I-6 is very smooth as compared to the I-4 which is more an industrial engine. Used the mounts from the 1994 so all the damping is correct for the engine/transmission.
