During the Great Power Wagon Cargo Bed Rust Plague of 1956, there was a mass migration of PW's to Montana. They apparently were following some instinctive direction that was ingrained at birth. They headed towards what they thought was a dry area, where they would be safe from the GPWCBRP. Many died en route, but a small herd of perhaps 120 PW's made it to the hills, where they lived out their lives safe from salty roads.

Many shed their infected cargo beds along the way, and that is why many of the carcasses that surface periodically are just cab & chassis skeletons.
