I dont think your refering to collectable 'as in' high dollar collectable vehicles. While you may find a an original color to your liking, changing the color really does not matter. It does not matter as long as you use good taste. I would think Purple and Green might be a little off taste ha ha.
My WC 53 Carryall is painted Harley Davidson Orange with the Satin Black fenders, hood and running boards. My Bumblebee FFPW is painted 2000 Nissan Solar Yellow with Flat Black Fenders, hood, and running boards. My M37 is painted GM Victiry Red with Satin Hood, fenders and running boards. And most likly my Swivel Frame to be built will be painted 2005 VW Geko Green with Black hood, fenders and running boards.
Its your truck, paint her as you would like to see her. Your the one funding it, driving it and looking at it all the time.
I would give anything to have a nice blanket of snow tonight as in the picture
