If you wanted to stay somewhat "legit", repaint it one of the colors approved for the year of your truck. There is information in the archives for most years as to the colors.
For example in 1952 there were a handful of colors that were stock, like black, red, dark blue, green, yellow. I am going to paint my 52 the dark blue.
