I don't have an answer to your question. I do however try to get folks to think differently about constructing roads to minimize erosion and minimize fine sediment delivery to streams (fish need friends too). Please download Chapter 10 from the below link. It ought to help you construct a better road. It's about 14 Mb (look at pages pages ~55-90). Also look for a copy of:
Handbook for Forest and Ranch Roads (PWA 1994)
