A friend of mine tagged a 94 Freightliner semi tractor as a recreational vehicle and he didnt need a CDL to drive it. He used it to pull his enclosed trailer and race car. As long as he didnt go over the 26k CDL limit or carry more then a certain amount of racing fuel (Hazmat) then he was good to go.
I already spoke with Marty about stuff but in Kansas I could put an antique tag on that old Autocar and drive it all over the USA and not stop for anything and not required to have a CDL.
