you should consider more rapid decline in your plans. i had a rust free western m37 and long island sea air changed that quickly. it likely would still be rust free if if was out west. once you start going through the drivetrain and paint those parts, the truck will begin to look a little different. ive seen trucks with powder coated wheels with silver rings and new tires, on otherwise orig trucks. the thought process was "its a work in process and the tires needed work first." do whatever you can to protect the sheetmetal. its the most important thing to preserve.
