Lots of the stainless we see has a "grained" finish- linear sanding scratchs. You can buy sheets that way, or just belt sand it. Tough stuff though, needs new belt and coarse too.

I thought from the color that Dean might have used Stainless, but his later post said 1/4" steel.

But that does give me an idea for an upgrade. More industrial looking than chrome, but still fancy and rustproof. Tough stuff, probably need to get it bent by press brake.
