I stand corrected, I just looked at my window sticker and my 2002 S.O with 2001 sheet metal (Chassis Cab) has the 47RE.
According to the 2003 ratings, the first H.O 's (not Imus Ho's)had the 47RE from July 2002, until Jan. 2003, after a Jan. build date they all had 48RE's and the S.O was the base motor with H.O. optional, so Mikes advice to run the VIN is a good idea if there are no motor identifiers in the engine compartment.
