I have one of these engines also which is a few thousand numbers later than yours. It also has a aluminum tag above the distributor that reads, New Factory Built
Mopar Engine
Model 0140
Specify parts from part list
Chrysler Corp Parts Division
Detroit, Michigan
It also has a front sump oil pan with the dipstick going into the side of the oil pan which also seems strange? This came out of a 1958 w100 TW Gov't vehicle so it appears to be a replacement motor, so maybe the CAL is a Chrysler code of some sort.
