I get paid on the click, nothing on the view, and nothing on the sale. As far getting paid for content, you can create a site, deliver ads, and get paid for the clicks. Some people find ads annoying. I just accept it as the only way to fund content websites. Just like TV, newspapers, magazines, and radio, advertising picks up the tab for us to enjoy without having to shell out any money. There are sites like TDR, that allow access to restricted parts of their website by subscribing to their magazine. That work too, its a great model, but not something that I can envision doing.

This site serves up roughly 24,000 ad views per day, this time of year. Clicks are usually in the single digits. I think the advertisers are safe here. I would think advertisers want people to go to their sites, and take a look. More chance of selling something if you can draw visitors to your site.

The reason I started the Forum Give-a-way is to give back a little to the contributors on the forum, and thank the businesses who advertise here. Dave Fraser was the first winner, getting a jug of Power Wagon Maple Syrup.
