that was told (and explained) to me by
Mario Mezzanotte Pirelli tire chief engineer
in the 1970s & 80s and the designer of the
P7 (the first 50 series radial) and not only
did the engineers design the tire they designed the equipment to make the tires
think about what a tire does and what all the
individual parts of the tire do
the bead, the sidewall, the casing the belting, the tread, etc, etc.
