Isn't the SAE standard 'wet'?

I always thought that good shop practice was to oil all fasteners. I don't ever recall any auto manual saying dry.

How dry would dry be? Particular solvent? techneique? Whereas "dip it in oil" is simple, and uniform.

I'm kidding about an SAE standard, so far as I know. But it makes sense.

'K' factors seem to be in the realm of engineering students, not for mechanics.
