Most of the guys I talked with were trying to get me to switch to a 400 block but I really want to stick with my original 383. The rule of thumb is that a long stroke makes big torque & the 383 would have a 4-1/4" stroke. It wouldn't be the way to go if your goal was to build a high rpm car but I think it would be a great combo for lots of pulling power!
