The Tie-Rod end is less than 3/8" in diameter, good design job GM!
This truck weighs 7,000 lbs, my 4,000 lb Jeep Liberty has a tie rod end that is 30% larger, a comparable sized Dodge has an actual tie rod in addition to a stronger solid axle front end.
There is an aftermarket tie rod end that is 1" in diameter, but this wasn't it......
