Does it matter? Of course it matters...that's why there's three of them.

Go to another vehicle of any type that has similar headlamps. Unplug one lamp. Put your multi-meter on "continuity" and find the ground contact. Then put the multimeter on "Volts DC" and with Soldier #2 operating the light switch and high/low switch, find the low-beam contact, and finally the high-beam contact. They will be the same on all lamps of the same type.

Your wiring scheme question has nothing to do with the high-beam indicator, which is wired into the harness at the dashboard.
