Mine is not Swiss but is made by Jones Motorola Corp, Type 1600. It will read RPM's from 0 to 3000. It has a lock feature that you can hit a button to freeze the Pointer on the scale. It also has the ability to measure surface speeds in FPM using the 6 inch Circumference wheel. This provides a direct indication in FPM when the indication on the dial has been divided by 2, each each revolution of the wheel equalling 1 foot.

I have checked the Jones Motorola hand held Tach against my General Radio Strobotac 1531a that will read from 0 to 25,000 rpm and find its typicaly within 10%.
