Chris, there was no O-ring when I took it apart and my parts book doesn't show one. Maybe this is the problem though. The check valve has tabs that fit inside the spring and the valve is sitting directly against the front of the master cylinder.

My parts books also shows the cup withe flat side against the spring but if I understand correctly, the flat side should go against the piston?

I did bench bleed it but have not tried compresses air.
