An old engine builders trick that works well is to pack the internals of the oil pump with vaseline before installing. This insures that the pump will pick up oil immediately. Also fill the filter housing with oil.You may also turn the engine without plugs to circulate oil before firing it up.If you want to be fanatical about it you could install an electrical pump in the oil filter circuit to prelube all bearings prior to cranking. That is a common practice in high Dollar diesel engines. It can even be automated by tying into the ignition circuit with a delay to allow the engine to be prelubed before it CAN be cranked. If you want more particulars e-mail me at:gtwo@hot1.net
