I have a Ramsey industrial winch catalog. The X-600 is a worm drive mechanical winch. It's rated at 12,000 lbs. It takes 225' of 1/2" cable. That would correspond to 300' of 7/16". The gear ratio is 40:1. they make a hydraulic HX-600.
