It is a roll of material made mostly of rubber that goes into the windshield channel and holds the glass in place. The stuff comes on rolls of various thicknesses and doesn't cost very much - any auto glass shop will have it. Having said this, the stuff takes a bit of skill to work with: I fooled around with mine for a bit and then got my windshields mounted for $25.
