I'm in a Harley shop buying a dirt bike. I told one of the owners I found her shop off the beaten path (I-91) because I drive my vintage army truck off the beaten path (Rt 5). She says I just got a vintage truck, a '44 Ford, firetruck, for the parades, I have to fix the siren. I said I used to have a vintage fire truck, I loved the siren, it was a Dodge Power Wagon. She says my husband's nephew used to have a Power Wagon, he used to go to rallies all the time. I said no way, who? She says Alex Erisoty! Alex is a Power Wagon world friend from years ago, a frequent Iowa Rally attendee, known by many, and known for his panoramic photos of the rallies, take n with a vintage camera that is older than our trucks. So there you go. You just never know who you're going to run into. BTW, Alex is in NYC, still taking pictures. Alex is also an old friend of Don Beckwith, Alex contributed an article on Don and his 6bta powered M37 in the PW Advertiser sometime in '83? (Perkins powered at the time). Oh, the dirt bike? My son's, I have to spread the family's discretionary funds across other family hobbies, not just trucks. That's ok 'cause I get to ride it too - '06 KTM 250 sxf. That bike rips. Power Wagon talk in a Harley shop while buying a KTM. Can't imagine a better way to enjoy the day.
