It's probably OK, if empty and checked, for carry-on it's risky, they may think that you're going to use it to mix your explosives in-flight, you are an Arab male between 18-35, correct? Oh wait that's profiling, instead,we have to pat down grandma.....= )
The TSA has a web site with do's and dont's that all travelers should check and print out and take with you. Every airport is different and every country is different. My Mom has glaucoma and must have a liquid medicine. The medicine must be in containers smaller than 4oz and she must have her prescription displayed on the bottle. She left here, for Europe, OK, but on the way back German customs and security took it from her, explaining "It's the Americans that require us to take this from you" that was BS but your only option is to not get on the plane. That's why international flights take 2+ hours to screen, domestic flights usually take 30-40 minutes, but heed the warnings and get there 1.5 hours early for domestic flights and 2+ for international flights.
Besides, if Mac is there he is going to take that Maple anyway......= )
