It's not too difficult to get a title, but you will have to deal with the State Police at some point. You can even take a titleless truck in to the State Police and they will assign you a VIN# and title for your truck. You can even tell them what year it is and that will show up on the title/registration.
The thing is, be completely forthcoming and honest about what you are doing. Cops are incredibly good Bull$#!^ detectors. Start laying them a BS story and forget getting a title for your truck now or ever.
Worst case scenario in Washington is that you apply for a lost or missing title, and you have to wait 3 years from the time of application to get one from the state.
