I was kicking around a scrapyard in Ellensburg today on a hunch from a friend that they had a Chrysler industrial engine that I thought would fit in the 1/2 ton WC... So I go out and look at the old generator figuring it's probably got a 251 IND or a 265 IND...
Wait a minute, there's a couple of extra sparkplugs there!
Never seen a Chrysler Industrial straight 8 before.
Might be kind of fun to shoehorn this beast in a 1/2 ton WC. The head is 30.5" long.
I'm unsure of the size engine, The model # is IND12-185. The block has a casting date of 1946 and according to the allpar website it could be a 324 ci motor (in the automotive application).
Where would I go about finding consumeable parts for this old beast? I know Kanter sells rebuild kits, but what about a dist. cap?
