Dana is right on. As Dana described, It works fine to gain extra room.

Both my PW and Carryall to have the grill extensions so deduct those from the measurements below.

My PW is a 1970 Export Model that came stock with a 251. The Radiator is mounted on the front of the large U Shape radiator support. The Radiator tank is offset to the rear so that the fill neck aligns with the hole in the radiator cover. My PW now has a 318 installed.

Distance Firewall to radiator core is 32.750"
Engine length as close as I can measure is 24"
Distance between Fan blade tips and radiator core is 3.750"
Front of radiator to flat bar stock on grill is 1.50"

My Carryall is the same as a WDX PW for all practicable purposes. I was short on room to fit the Cummins. So I turned the Large U Shape Radiator Support around 180 degrees, mounted the radiator on the front of the U Shape Support, and had the Radiator tunred 180 degrees so the fill pipe would align with the hole in the radiator cover. The original radiator came from a WDX PW. The radiator was re-cored, see not below *

Distance Firewall to Radiator Core is 33.0"
Front of Cummins to Radiator Core is 4.0"
Front of Radiator to flat bar stock on grill is 4.0"
My electric fan is a pusher on the front of the radiator
* I gained 2.50" between front of radiator core and flat bar stock on grill because I had the radiator re-cored with a thinner core. I did not need the extra core thickness for cooling the diesel.

Hollar if you want any measurements other than the above.

Paul
