Kevin, when I removed the 315 from my TW, I went ahead and stripped the heads, intake and timing cover and bolted the chain right to the block. I left the trans attached. Since I had to rebuild the engine away it seemed like the easiest way. When I put it back it I fabbed up some 3/8 in plates that I bolted to the exhaust manifold mounting holes. I had cut holes in the plates for the chain.
