Its not that cut and dried on what you can and cannot print. Most copyrights on service manuals expire after a certain time. I really doubt all the people selling these old service manuals on ebay have Chryslers permission.

Logo's are usually allowed to be printed without permission as long as you are not claiming the logo for yourself or your own. If you wanted to have a game ticket give away for OSU football for your business and you were having flyers printed up you could use the OSU logo without having to pay legal fee's to get the OK.

If Mac came up with his own design and didnt copyright it then he doesnt have much to stand on. Chances are also if an old logo was used Chrysler is probably not gonna follow up on it. Its trademark or copyright may no longer be good or those logos may have been released for use. Now if he got a new hat made with the "Yeah its got a Hemi" on it then he might have some problems. Especially if he started selling them by the thousands then they would want licensing fee's.

As for copying photo's most photographers own the photos you pay him to have taken. Never have understood that. Print shops usually wont copy a photo that has a photographer logo on it. You are supposed to pay him for another copy instead of just copying it. Its your photo you should be able to do what you want but its better to just take your own pictures if you are gonna have it copied or printed in something.
