Part of my original issue (which was NEVER corrected) was that in rapid acceleration the D wouldn'r shift when it should have and would stick, then the rev limiter would kick in, causing the D to sputter, backfire and buck like a bronc, and if I'd back off a bit (on throttle) it would then shift up (most of the time).

Now if I drive like an old fart and took 3 miles to get up to 40 MPH, I wouldn't have this problem (at 1st). After the 1st fix, it didn't matter how I'd drive as it'd ALWAYS happen. This is what led me to believe the TPS was bad.

When I finally did replace the TPS (after the 3rd VB), it did partially correct the problem, but I'm afraid other damage was done.
