My B140 has a Rockwell T223 'cloverleaf' transfer case but I think the older 140s, like the R, used an offset rear and a different transfercase.

18" wheels with 9.00-18 tires were original on my B140. I swapped on the 20" wheels(from a Dodge) and the 9.00-20 tires. The lug pattern is 5 on 8, a bit bigger than the PW 5 lug but uses the same lug nuts.

My 140 has 11,000 lb GVW. It's the lightest rated 140 IH made(the axles under mine are rated 5000/10,000lb front/rear). 140s were rated up to 17,000 lb GVW when they ran duals on the rear. That's what I was basing my W300/W500 comparison on. I have no idea about the physical size differences between 140s and W300s, so perhaps a W300 is bigger than my B140.

If Dana 70s look bigger than the axles on this R140, then you may not be looking at an R140 or possibly it has had axles swapped. The Eaton/IH axles on the 140s have a 12" ring gear. It is seems to me that the RA20 and FA50 axle housings are larger than the Dana 70s(I have several rears) but they are different styles of housing so it can be hard to tell without them sitting next to one another. The pic above shows the FA50 in my B140. They are a 'banjo' style with a drop-out third member like the ones used in the PW(front and rear third members are interchangeable too, like the PW).
