The poor telephone call quality is a result of internet phone (voip or ip phone)connection. International and local calls cost next to nothing but Quality is poor. The data guys have traditionally put data first and voice second but as you have noticed voice needs to be real time. data can be sent in increments and reassembled as a whole but speech needs to be delivered intact.Throw in broken english and its a mess.Major financial companys looking to save a bundle have ripped out ip phone systems after they failed to live up to the salesmans promises.the technology is improving but wait a while before you abandon proven telecom gear for supposed savings.Add in the fact that call centers are located in places where reliable clean electrical power is a recent addition and air conditioning is a novelty,less robust computer based phone systems are failure prone.
