it happens to me all the time.i it is the old style starter the selenoid want retract and the starter stays engaged. do not grease it it wont work. i pulled the selenoid apart and polished the part that moves out(it was pitted real bad) and it will work correctly for a preety good while.use some spray lube that dries.
