I've mentioned this before...I guess my buddy got lucky with his 2003 F350. It's got 120K on it now & never a warranty claim yet. We just got back from CA in it...it's towed many a Dodge for me. It towed Wilbur from Judd's in NE on a 3000 mile tow back to Vancouver & he's had a chip in that thing since day one. He put dual exhaust on it from the turbo back & it's over 400hp...strangest sounding diesel I ever heard but never a problem with the running gear on that rig & never a drip of oil from that 6L engine.
Brakes....that's another story. He goes through rotors on that thing like I go through tanks of fuel with my Hemi!
He had ford do the brakes with new rotors at Christmas & they are horrible already...almost unusable.
What's up with that? Can't they just run a heavier rotor? Ford's had that same issue ever since I can remember.
I guess he got lucky because there's sure been lots of complaints about them. That truck will out tow any Dodge I've ever been in with a single turbo.
The 6BT can make way more power on a Dyno but they just run too hot with a single turbo.
That was the main reason I twin turbo'd the 2005 Cummins I had....I couldn't have him pulling away from me in that Ford!
