Went through this with my D500 last summer changed out the entire ignition and it still wouldn't start.You ignition requires a minimum voltage to fire during the "start"circuit, i.e.when cranking.If your starter is bad it will draw to much juice and there will not be enough left to make spark.You have to check the voltage
delivered to the ignition WHEN CRANKING to make sure you have enough to fire.
